SANA RIVER – fly FISHING REPORT

WATER LEVEL: Very low

BEST TIME OF THE DAY : Afternoon

HATCHES: Bwo

MOST PRODUCTIVE TECHNIQUE: Euro nymphing , indicator nymphing , dry fly.

PATTERNS: Yellow and olive emerger (size #18 – #20) , , CDC Upwing yellow and olive (size #18 – #20) Nymphs – Plivka nymph (size #20) Pheasant tails (size #18 – #20) , olive cat nymph (size #18 – #20) , black perdigon (size #18)

TACTICS: Good fishing with many fish in the net. Flat part under connection with Ribnik was very productive for dry fly fishing during the afternoon hatch , with all sizes of fish rising. In the connection the best technique was euro nymphing , with two smaller nymphs . The biggest graylings were caught in this part. End of the LTG stretch was also good , but mostly for indicator fishing and dries , with mostly average sized fish but many action. Fishing 7x fluorocarbon was mandatory as the water is still low . The bottom is still covered in algae so we hope in the following days the water will raise and clean the bottom a little bit . Should be better fishing in the following days.
